Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin (CO) is an important international trade document confirming that the goods in a particular shipment have been wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country.
There are 2 major types of CO:
- Preferential CO:- issued to cover eligible exports for preferential tariff exemption or reduction under free trade agreements (FTA).For more information about applying for a preferential Certificate of Origin, please refer to UCCI.
- Non-preferential CO:- issued for goods which do not enjoy preferential treatment.
Note: UCCI Only issue Non preferential CO as of Now
COs may be requested by importing countries’ Customs Departments, importers, freight forwarders or banks (for letter of credit clearance). Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industries is authorized to issue the non-preferential CO (known as Ordinary CO) and Commonwealth Preference Certificate (qualifies for preferential treatment for exports to Mauritius)
