Excellence Awards 2020
Continuing the tradition in its 4th year, “UCCI Excellence Awards 2020” was held on the 12th February 2020. At the award ceremony held during the 54th UCCI Foundation Day, the Chief Guest of the function Shri Shreekant Somany, CMD of Somany Ceramics and UCCI President Shri Ramesh Kumar Singhvi felicitated those Entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exemplary performance in the field of their respective businesses.
Applications for these awards were invited from all Micro, Small, Medium and Large Scale Enterprises in Manufacturing and Service sectors in Southern Rajasthan, beside the CSR Award and a new category of award announced for Social Enterprises. This year also marked the first time the award applications were made completely online. The applications were received from various organisations across 8 districts in Rajasthan.
viz.. Udaipur, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajasamand, Bhilwara and Pratapgarh. Shri Shreekant Somany delivered his keynote address during the function. Addressing a packed audience in the P.P. Singhal Auditorium of UCCI, Shri Somany explained the importance of having goodwill in the business sustainability through his life’s experience. He also spoke about building trust with the employees and the art of delegation..
The panel discussion on the topic “How Entrepreneurs Build Skills” was moderated by Prof. Janat Shah, Director IIM-Udaipur and the panellists were: Shri Anil Kumar Godha – Managing Director, Godha Enterprise, Smt. Alka Sharma – CEO, Cosvi Aavaran Producer Co. Ltd., Shri Suket Singhal – Managing Director, Secure Meters Ltd., Dr. Nitiz Murdia – Director, Indira IVF Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. and Shri Abhishek Sinha – Co-Founder & CEO, Good Dot.He said Tourism is the biggest industry in Rajasthan due to natural beauty. In such a situation, the government and entrepreneurs should not compromise with the environment here..

This year the award was conferred upon Dr. Ajay Murdia for his exceptional service to humanity and this entrepreneurial spirit which made his company the top chain of IVF centres across the country.

Vedanta Hindustan Zinc CSR Award
The prestigious Vedanta Hindustan Zinc CSR Award was given to J.K. Tyre & Industries Ltd. for their dedicated and well planned CSR projects in South Rajasthan region. The award was received by Shri Radheshyam Kedia and Shri Anil Mishra of J. K. Tyre.
It is worth noting that J.K. Tyre has been taking home the CSR award every year since inception. J.K. Lakshmi Cement Ltd. was shortlisted for this category which won the President’s Appreciation Certificate..

The PP Singhal Social Enterprise Award
The PP Singhal Social Enterprise Award The PP Singhal Social Enterprise Award went to Udaipur Urja Initiatives Producer Company Ltd. for their exemplary rural outreach in their social enterprise. Their community driven business model was appreciated by the juries. It is worth mentioning that Udaipur Urja won the CSR Award in 2018 and President’s Certificate in 2019.
This award debuted this year and received some very good applications. It is worth mentioning that Karma Primary Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd. and Cosvi Aavaran Producer Company Ltd. were the other contenders for this award.
E-Connect Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
Harmony Mewar Service Award – Large Enterprise
The Harmony Mewar Service Award for large enterprises was won by E – Connect Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for their consistent growth and quality service in their sector. Shri Manoj Agarwal, Director of E-Connect Solutions Pvt. Ltd. received the award. It is commendable that E-Connect won this award two years in a row. This category experienced some tough scrutiny this year by the jury. No other contestant this year received President’s certificate for this category.

G.R. Agarwal Services Award – Medium Enterprise
Rishabh Bus Pvt. Ltd. was declared as the winner in this category this year. The G.R. Agarwal Services Award for Medium Enterprise is a category to look out for. It highlights the medium size businesses that have potential to become large in future.
Companies that were shortlisted included Mewar Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. which received the President’s Certificate for this category.
While the winner will have the big expectation to maintain the status other companies got another reason to work harder and win this award next year.

Dr. Ajay Murdia – Indira IVF Service Award – Small Enterprise
Dr. Ajay Murdia – Indira IVF Service Award for Small Enterprise went to Sayluss Medicare Pvt. Ltd. which is into operating ambulance services. This was a surprise entry this year and the jury found them deserving for their impeccable performance.
No other contestant in this category stood to be selected as runner-up. This proves how tough the shortlisting process is.
Pyrotech Workspace Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
ArcGate Manufacturing Award – Medium Enterprise
The ArcGate Manufacturing Award for the Medium Enterprises was won by Pyrotech Workspace Solutions Pvt. Ltd. They were a new entrant in the awards this year and managed to stand out in the category because of their business performance.
Other contestants in the race this year included last year’s winner Tempsens Instruments India Pvt. Ltd. and Rajasthan Barytes Ltd. Tempsens won the President’s Certificate for the First Runner-up in this category.
Sudiva Spinners Pvt. Ltd.
Pyrotech Tempsens Manufacturing Award – Large Enterprise
This category experienced a surprising upheaval this year as the new applicant in this category toppled the 3 time winner of this award. Sudiva Spinners Pvt. Ltd took away the Pyrotech Tempsens Manufacturing Award for Large Enterprise.
It is worth mentioning that this award was previously won by Nitin Spinners Ltd. for three consecutive years. They stood third in this category this year as J.K. Cement Ltd. bagged the President’s Certificate for this category.
Marathon Heater India Pvt. Ltd.
Singhal Foundation Manufacturing Award – Small Enterprise
Singhal Foundation Manufacturing Award for Small Enterprises went to Marathon Heater India Pvt. Ltd. This choice from the Jury came because of the company’s growth and market potential.
The criteria matrices of the awards were also refined this year to improve the assessment of the applications leading to many new enterprises getting a chance to shine.
Other contestants shortlisted for this category were Accurate Sensing Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Khetan Business Corporation Pvt. Ltd. Accurate Sensing Technologies Pvt. Ltd. won the President’s Certificate for this category.
Casa Arte Decor Pvt. Ltd.
Wonder Cement Manufacturing Award – Micro Enterprise
The Wonder Cement Manufacturing Award for micro enterprises was captured by Casa Arte Décor Pvt. Ltd. This was a busy category this year with quite a lot of very worthy applications but Casa Arte Décor took the prize for their zeal and efforts.
Companies shortlisted for the category included Reemaz and Lotus Hi – Tech Industries. Reemaz received the President’s Certificate as the runner up of this category.
Special Jury Award
Ideabox Creations was selected for Special Jury Award. This award was decided by the Jury as they found the company deserving of special appreciation. The award was presented to the winner by President Shri Ramesh Kumar Singhvi and Life Time Achievement Award Winner Dr. Ajay Murdia.

This year the UCCI Excellence Awards Committee is chaired by Smt. Nandita Singhal, Director of Secure Meters. UCCI President Shri Ramesh Kumar Singhvi has encouraged the expansion of the Excellence Awards 2020 committee to include a dynamic mix of young and experienced representatives of UCCI member organizations. Ltd., Mr. Ronak Shah, CEO of Seva Mandir and Mr. Kavish Gupta of Next generation fillers.
This year the jury body of the UCCI Excellence Awards constituted of eminent experts from the fields of Management Consulting, Government Policy, Academia, and CSR. The Jury panel included Ret. IAS and Ex. Chief Secretary, Rajasthan Shri Anil Vaish, Director, IIM-Udaipur Shri Janat Shah, Ex. CSR Head of Vedanta HZL, Smt. Neelima Khetan and Partner, Advisory at KPMG, Shri Shobhit Agarwal.
